Carina Cortese

Neon

Carina is passionate about designing systems that enable empathy and impact at scale, drawing on a background that spans both the arts and business. After an earlier career in theater as a performer, director, playwright, and producer, she now partners with visionary leaders seeking to create positive impact with purpose, creativity, and humanity. Since joining SYPartners in 2011, she has led large-scale transformation work with organizations including IBM, Mars, AARP and the AARP Foundation, Harry’s, Edgewell, Ellevest, and IDEO.

Her perspective on human-led transformation is shaped by working at the intersection of seemingly opposing forces: logic and empathy, creativity and systems thinking, immediacy and sustainability. Carina has lived and worked across Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, and holds a dual BA in Philosophy and Dramatic Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as an MA in Arts Administration from Columbia University. Outside of work, she enjoys hosting Jeffersonian-style dinners and singing in a small vocal group.
