Keith Yamashita founded and led SYPartners for nearly 30 years, established the kyu collective, and launched This Human Moment—an online community created during the pandemic to foster a new humanism. Keith has dedicated his life to creating a world that is more creative, beautiful, just, and inclusive. As a co-founder of The Institute for Moral Imagination (TIMI), he currently works at the intersection of systems design and human potential in this species-defining era. TIMI’s mission is to ignite humankind’s collective creativity, empowering artists, changemakers, and citizens to imagine and build a future where all can thrive. The Institute provides nourishment, experiences, and opportunities to strengthen moral imagination.
Keith holds an M.A. in Organizational Behavior and a B.A. in Quantitative Economics from Stanford University. He is a Fellow in the inaugural cohort of the Michael D. Eisner Arts & Culture Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. He serves as a trustee of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, and as a member of The Council of The Long Now Foundation.
