Recalibrators have a wellspring of calm within.
They are the eye in the center of the storm—clear, focused, in control, and unfazed by the disruptions around them. When the team’s stress level is high and emotions are running especially hot, they are the ones who can bring the temperature back to normal. They can soothe and reassure teammates, and help the team get back on track.
If this is your superpower":
Bear in mind that your unflappability can sometimes be off-putting for people driven by emotions. They may find your even-temperedness hard to read and frustrating.
Some “controlled fires” can be healthy for a team. Make sure that in an effort to reinstate calm, you’re not tamping down healthy conflict too soon.
If you’re working with them:
Just because Recalibrators don’t get emotional doesn’t mean they aren’t invested or committed to the team. Don’t mistake their dispassion for apathy.
Recalibrators tend to approach the work in a rational, methodical manner. They may try to redirect when the work gets messy or when it’s unclear where everything is headed.
