Evangelizers are motivated by deep and pure belief, and that belief is infectious.
They don’t try to sell anyone on anything. They simply tell great stories about what they love...and the next thing you know, people are lining up to have some of what they’re having. Evangelizers are great to bring in when the team needs to translate its work to a wider audience—especially an audience that may be skeptical.
If this is your superpower:
People who excel at seeing gaps can be a thorn in your side, but don’t overlook them. They often have legitimate critiques that will force you to make your story stronger.
Your deep belief can sometimes lead to tunnel vision. Make sure you’re taking time to examine all the forces working for and against your team.
If you’re working with them:
Evangelizers draw their strength and energy from belief. So, they can become impatient when the team’s own belief dims.
Create opportunities for evangelizers to get the word out early. Don’t come to them at the last minute. Otherwise, they’ll be in the uncomfortable position of hawking when what they love to do is simply build excitement.
