Alissa Burmeister, Principal and Head of PM Team

Alissa Burmeister is motivated by building teams and community. Since joining SYPartners in 2014, she has worked with organizations including AARP, BlackRock, Edgewell, GE, Harry’s Razors, IBM, Oath (now Verizon Media), Ogilvy, and Planned Parenthood. She also leads the Program Management team at SYPartners.

Prior to SYPartners, she worked in education and non-profit organizations. She taught literature and cultural studies at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Germany, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Dresden, Germany. She spent more than a decade fostering transatlantic understanding and partnership through organizations such as the Goethe-Institut, the European College of Liberal Arts (now Bard College Berlin), and the American Academy in Berlin.

Outside of work, she is an amateur marine biologist, who explores and protects the Caribbean Sea and its marine life.
