This month, SYPartners hosted veteran foreign correspondent and consulting editor at The Economist, John Andrews, to discuss his latest book: “The World in Conflict.”
Our topic was this: We are in an era of near-constant change, affected by waves of global conflict and political/social unrest. How might leaders navigate these unknowns, and what makes them successful?
We were joined by over 40 guests for cocktails and conversation in our New York office. The takeaways were many, surfaced by both our speaker and our guests.
We learned that the world’s most impossible problems are resolved through the will and determination of individual leaders.
We discussed a leader’s most valuable qualities—grace, imagination, and resilience being among them.
We found that the most powerful leaders are guided by a clarity of vision and recognize the power of narrative to capture people’s hearts.
It’s our hope that these insights will inspire new perspectives and new approaches to leadership.
This event was the first in a series of upcoming SYPartners’ events on our emerging leadership frame, Leading into the Unknown.
