Steve Semelsberger

President, Individual Transformation Practice

As one of SYPartners’ Presidents, Steve serves clients, helps manage the company, and fuels new IP. His work has spanned large organizations such as AARP, Kellogg, and USA Today along with social enterprises such as On Being and the Center for Healthy Minds. Steve’s current subject focus includes emerging leadership capabilities, well-being in the workplace, executive coaching, human-centered digital transformation, business innovation execution, and creating cultures of inclusion. He also helps guide SYP’s digital tools, technology, and product offerings, merging his software background with his behavior-change expertise.

To help foster impact at early stage and emerging technology companies, Steve serves as the Founder of Alder Growth Partners, a Partner at Capital Factory, and a Mentor at Techstars. He is also a board director for the Sustainable Food Center.

His previous experience is with high-growth technology companies, spanning general management (SVP & GM, Social Products for Demand Media) and functional management (VP, Sales & Business Development for Pluck), along with product management, marketing, and alliances positions with Motive (now part of Alcatel) and iChat (now part of Apple). In parallel, Steve built and taught the Entrepreneurship curriculum at Concordia University as an adjunct professor.

Steve holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Spain’s IESE, along with a BS in management from Binghamton University. A father of three boys, he spends a good deal of his time outdoors with family and friends in his adopted hometown of Austin, TX.
